Bas says this looks like a submarine spying on us from the North Sea off the Herne Bay coast.
In fact, I am sure you realise it is the remains of the pier that once jutted out from Herne Bay. It was such a delightful sight and to walk along was just brilliant.
The pier was destroyed by the storms in 1978.
