My walk to the River Stour was peaceful and serene.
Birds songs in my ears. from hedgerows of green.
a cackle of a Pheasant, hiding in the corn.
Moorhen chicks on the dyke, I saw these the day they were born.
Young Mallards also in view and a mated pair of Swans.
Rosebay-willow-herb in flower growing profusely seen as I
walked along.
Hedge Bindweed, of purest white, would make a skirt for a
Fairy Princess, this sight I'd like.
Red Admiral Butterflies with their recognisable stripes, paused
so their beauty I could study well.
Then Comma butterflies of orange and brown, that like nettles, now about them I'll tell.
The fact that these delightful creatures have ragged wings and when closed,
show a punctuation mark of white, this clearly shows.
In all as I have said in the beginning line.
This walk to the River Stour was serene and sublime.
